We are currently at the final stages of selecting the papers for The ESACH Quarterly Magazine. If you're a student or young professional in the heritage field who has an inspiring paper to share - from academic articles to projects, reports, or interviews - you're more than welcome to submit your writing piece! You can also check our issue n°1, which is available for download for free! The full description of the magazine's initiative and our submission guidelines can be read here. Don't miss the opportunity of having your paper published with us!

#HeritageAmbassadors and the European Heritage Tribune
Our European Heritage Ambassadors have been sharing their inspiring experiences in the field of cultural heritage at the European Heritage Tribune. Since February they have been working as mediators between heritage students, young professions, and cultural heritage institutions. 

This month we will closely follow the Ambassadors' participation at the European Heritage Policy Agora (September 24), which is part of the Europa Nostra 2021 European Cultural Heritage Summit. ESACH Blog ft. European Heritage Tribune
Check out one of our latest ESACH blog reading recommendations featured on the European Heritage Tribune website! The article "Beyond Engagement: Community-Led World Heritage Nominations of Indigenous Sites in Australia" by Shari Bone refers to two different indigenous sites in Australia that were inscribed on the World Heritage List. The author analyses the active participation of different indigenous communities (the Gunditjmara and the Ngurra-Ngarli) in the nomination processes and brings awareness to the importance of community engagement within heritage practices.

2021 European Cultural Heritage Summit in Venice  
The Europa Nostra 2021 European Cultural Heritage Summit is taking place this month, from September 21st-24th. If you want to stay updated on major heritage policies and decisions in Europe you cannot miss it! The event will discuss Europe's recovery from the pandemics and will follow a hybrid format. Representatives of the European heritage community (local and international authorities, students, organizations, etc.) will take part in the talks and presentations.

Enjoying a Summer of Heritage: an overview on the European Heritage Volunteers Summer Projects  
Throughout this whole summer, many of our members and subscribers have been taking part in exciting projects coordinated by the European Heritage Volunteers. Since July, the organization has involved young heritage students and professionals in different heritage-related activities. From wood conservation in a Transylvanian church to the restoration of Roman mosaics in an archaeological site in Kosovo, they always offer many opportunities for those who want to acquire more practical and on-site skills related to heritage management. If you haven't done so yet, check out our and their social media to learn more about the previous, current, and upcoming projects.

Take part at the ICOMOS Student Competition 2021: 1960 plus – Brutalism  
As we have previously announced in July's Newsletter, this year's biennial student competition proposed by ICOMOS Germany will focus on post-1960's architecture. ICOMOS is looking for works (in English or German) that can explain why brutalist buildings are worth preserving and also the valuable meanings that can be attributed to them. You still have time to submit a proposal, since the deadline is September 27. The winners will be awarded a 500€ prize!

The New European Bauhaus: Shaping a more beautiful future in Europe  
The European Movement International is hosting the 19th European Week of Regions and Cities in October. The digital panel will deal with the topic of the New European Bauhaus and its Relevance for Citizens. This is an interdisciplinary movement that aims to offer citizens a unique opportunity to shape a sustainable and inclusive future in both urban and rural areas of Europe. ICCROM Lecture Series: Fight Against Illicit Heritage Traffic

ICCROM Spain is hosting this month a lecture series about the fight against illicit traffic of cultural heritage. To celebrate the UNESCO Convention of 1970, ICCROM will host an online event to discuss the possible actions to fight against those crimes. Some of the problems approached will be national and international cooperation, methods and tools for heritage protection, and the consequences of archaeological looting. The event will happen on September 23 and it is mandatory to register beforehand.

14th International Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe
This year's conference of the European Cultural Tourism Network has the following main theme: Regenerating European Tourism through Culture, Heritage, and Creativity. For three days heritage professionals will debate the latest trends in sustainable tourism, digitalization, and cultural tourism. The hybrid event will take place in Athens and online at the end of October.
