ESACH Quarterly Magazine and UNIDROIT 1995 Convention Since June we have been working on the issue n°2 of The ESACH Quarterly, our digital magazine which aims to expand the knowledge-sharing of youth-led approaches to Cultural Heritage. And for August, we have exciting news to share! We've partnered up with UNIDROIT and we are now encouraging submissions related to the 1995 UNIDROIT Convention and the topic of cultural heritage restitution as well! We believe this to be a crucial theme in the current debates regarding heritage, and we are looking forward to reading your contributions to that! You can find all the specific guidelines on our website. Don't miss the chance of having your paper published with us! Deadline: 30th of September 2021.  Member Survey: What now? The impact of Covid-19 on cultural heritage students and steps forward During this summer ESACH launched its very own member survey to better understand how the pandemic's situation has affected the lives of young heritage professionals in Europe. Since the heritage field has been one of the most deeply affected by lockdowns and travel restrictions, our team wants you to have a say in the activities and strategies that we will develop in the upcoming months. We sincerely believe that getting to know our members' experiences is the key to a better and faster recovery!  #HeritageAmbassadors and the European Heritage Tribune Our European Heritage Ambassadors have been sharing their inspiring experiences in the field of cultural heritage at the European Heritage Tribune. Since February they have been working as mediators between heritage students, young professions, and cultural heritage institutions. You can learn more about the activities and projects they are engaged with by searching the hashtag #heritageambassadors on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin!  ESACH Blog ft. European Heritage Tribune Check out our latest ESACH blog reading recommendation featured on the European Heritage Tribune website! The article "Connecting Heritage and Youth Through Minecraft: Mi.Momo.Faro" by Tiago Candeias refers to a project that aims to enhance community participation in modernist architecture by using game-based learning tools. In this project, the famous game "Minecraft" was brought inside public schools to engage more than 120 high school students with their city's heritage.  Opportunity with the European Heritage Tribune! One of our dear partners, the European Heritage Tribune, is looking for volunteer reporters to cover the European Heritage Days in September and October! Reporters will work in pairs creating 5-minute video reports of different heritage-related events in five European countries. The contributions will be done by visiting one of those events and interviewing organizers and visitors. The videos will be shared on their website and social media channels, and travel costs will be reimbursed. (all picture rights reserved to EHT)  2021 European Cultural Heritage Summit in Venice In a few weeks, Europa Nostra will open the registration for all heritage students or practitioners who wish to participate in their very special 2021 European Cultural Heritage Summit and stay updated on major heritage policies and decisions in Europe. The event will discuss Europe's recovery from the pandemics and will follow a hybrid format. Representatives of the European heritage community (local and international authorities, students, organizations, etc.) will take part in the talks and presentations. The Sumit will take place from 21 to 24 September. (all picture rights reserved to EN)  Have you heard of Heritage Thursdays? In July ICOMOS has launched their "Heritage Thursdays" program. The organization will offer a webinar on the last Thursday of each month. The goal is to demonstrate how ICOMOS has been implementing people-centered approaches and to discuss relevant problems such as inclusivity in the heritage scene. Last month's webinar was all about "Gender and Cultural Heritage", and their upcoming session (on August 26th) will deal with "Trauma and Heritage". What is The Future is Heritage? The Dutch cooperative Erfgoed Gelderland, together with other European heritage institutions, are promoting the "Future is Heritage - Field School". By creating encounters between young and established heritage professionals, they hope to explore more sustainable and democratic solutions to the problems faced in the area of heritage management. The field school will deal with different case studies under 4 main categories: 1. Heritage and Tourism; 2. Heritage and Inclusion; 3. Heritage and Repurposing; 4. Heritage and Climate Change; The discussions will happen through workshops, excursions, and capacity-building sessions. Deadline for applying: 20th of August 2021.
