call for phd student in the interdisciplinary field of conservation-restoration and applied sciences
The Royal Institute of Artistic Heritage (IRPA) in Brussels and the research groups Antwerp Cultural Heritage Sciences (ARCHES) and Antwerp X-ray analysis, Electrochemistry and Speciation group (AXES) of the UAntwerpen are looking for a candidate for a doctorate on time full (100%) in the interdisciplinary field of Conservation-Restoration and Applied Sciences, on the degradation of multicolored metal sheets of the mystic Lamb of Van Eyck brothers and other paintings from the XVth century.
Position: Scientific Research Assistant at IRPA for a period of two years

Heritage Crimes and Emergencies Summer School
An entire week (21-25 June) dedicated to the study of such field, exploring current issues and possible tools for evaluating and contrasting the illlicit traffic of cultural heritage, with a specific attention on its economic dimension. The initiative is part of the International Master in "Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response" and is organized in cooperation with UNESCO, INTERPOL and the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage.
