Call for proposals for Town-Twinning [Europe for Citizens]
Town-Twinning projects aim at promoting intercultural dialogue by bringing people of different nationalities and different languages together and giving them the opportunity to participate in common activities. The short course of three lectures aims to explore cultural heritage before, during, and after conflict situations. Historically, it has been assumed that cultural heritage primarily needs protection from collateral damage resulting from proximity to military targets or from the overall chaos caused by war. The three one-hour online meetings are going to take place on the 16, 23, and 30 of March. Each session will begin at 18.30 Rome time (CET). The conference will take place on 20-23 April 2023 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The 3-days event will highlight that history is complex because it is composed of multiple narratives and perspectives, which are then interwoven to create diverse and pluralistic societies composed of people with multilayered individual identities. The European news media sectors play a crucial and valuable role in Europe. Yet, they are facing multiple challenges. In order to support the European news media sector to become more sustainable and resilient, thus contributing to trustworthy reporting, the European Commission is calling for partnerships to develop skills and create employment for news media professionals and journalists, in particular, by supporting media collaborations. 27 April 2023 is the deadline for applications. Call for Papers on History education in transition – transcultural dialogue on historical thinking, learning, and culture [Historical Thinking, Culture, and Education (HTCE)] The new journal HTCE offers a critical space for the reflection and exchange of ideas about transcultural dialogue. For the first issue, they are waiting for theoretical and empirical publications that will help promote transcultural and transnational dialogue on the current state of history education and its needs for future developments. The theme for their first issue is history education in transition – transcultural dialogue on historical thinking, learning, and culture. The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2023. Conference on European Sustainable Religious Heritage [Future for Religious Heritage]
The FRH Biennial Conference is a high-level event that brings together members of academia, policymakers, heritage practitioners and other relevant actors to analyse the current state of religious heritage in Europe, discuss the latest developments and engage in a dialogue about the most pressing issues facing heritage. Eurocities, the network of major European cities, is recruiting a project coordinator to work on the European Heritage Hub project. As project coordinator, you will be responsible for all Eurocities activities under the European Heritage Hub project.
