Topic - “Contested Cultural objects and the Role of Provenance Research”
The Summer School is due to take place from Monday 29 August to Thursday 1 September 2022 in a hybrid format - Leiden University Campus and online, the event will bring together professionals from law, heritage, law enforcement and the art market. The focus will be on current ethical and legal standards for contested cultural objects, and special interest will be given to provenance research. Topic - ”Let’s build a beautiful city” The Summer School on traditional and classical urban design and architecture - this summer school will take place between 18 July - 4 August in Utrecht, The Netherlands. It aims at providing the students with the skills needed to design quality, sustainable urban environments that would also tackle the housing crisis. The awards have two strands - the Luigi Micheletti Award, focused on contemporary European history and its scientific, industrial and social heritage and the DASA Award, focused on the learning opportunities provided within the museum sector. The European Parliament awards this prize every year, dedicated to projects organised by people or organisations that encourage mutual understanding and closer integration between people in the EU. Individuals and organisations can also nominate a project themselves. Application deadline for proposals: 18 April 2022 More details can be found here. The 2022 edition of the Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2022 is now open for applications, with the theme “Relaunching European Tourism through Cultural Heritage & Digitalisation”. The Awards are organised by the European Cultural Tourism Network in partnership with Europa Nostra, the European Travel Commission and NECSTouR, and supported by the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), Interpret Europe and the ReInHerit Horizon2020 CSA. The initiative was launched during the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and aims at encouraging the development of Europe-wide sustainable tourism destinations. Horizon Europe Cluster 2 - 2022 call on cultural heritage and CCIs has opened on 20 January, with a focus on traditional crafts, protection of artefacts and cultural goods from anthropogenic threats, the effects of climate change and natural hazards on cultural heritage and remediation, as well as the New European Bauhaus.
The call is open until 20 April, more details to be found here. As part of the Digital Europe Work Programme 2021-2022, the call for the deployment of the European common data space for cultural heritage is now open until 17 May 2022.
It aims at creating the European common data space for cultural heritage, an initiative that would back the cultural sector in Europe’s digital transformation and encourage content creation and reuse within the sector. More details can be found here. ”CultureForHealth” calls for project submission
This EU-funded project brings researchers, practitioners and policy-makers together to generate knowledge, research and fieldwork in order to trigger cross-sectoral cooperation and policies that enhance well-being through culture. Actors with relevant projects can contribute to this initiative by submitting their work here. The Europeana 2022 call for proposals, will be hybrid this year between 28-30 September 2022. Join us in the Netherlands or attend digitally. The 7 main themes are: Common Data Spaces; Diversity & Inclusion; Participation & collaboration; Climate Action; Storytelling; 3D, multilinguality and AI (3D appears to be an especially important topic with the commission at the moment) and the European Year of Youth. They encourage submissions to reflect one of these themes, as well as anything that can help empower digital change. So if you think there are interesting projects that are happening in your respective networks that aren’t reflected here, please do still submit them.
